LOCATION: Saweni Beach is approximately 20 mins from Nadi Airport by car. The Beach House is located right on Saweni Beach, at the far end of the Saweni Beach Apartment Hotel property. The House is sufficiently far enough away from the hotel to ensure privacy and quiet, but close enough to access its services if required. To reach the beach and the Beach House, you will need to make your way down an unsealed road off the main highway, passing cane fields, grazing goats and cattle, until you come to the ocean. Saweni Beach was the staging area for the ocean-kayaking segment of the 2002 Eco-Challenge Fiji expedition race.

HOLIDAY SEASON CONDITIONS: (December 22 to January 2): Prices and/or rates may vary from regular season; please contact us for details. Minimum stay of 5 nights required.

MINIMUM STAY: The minimum stay period is 3 nights. During the Christmas/New Year period (Dec 22-Jan 2) however the minimum stay period is 5 nights.

SAWENI BEACH APARTMENT HOTEL: The Beach House is located at the far end of the Hotel grounds. Beach House guests may enjoy any of the services of the Hotel, but Hotel guests will not normally have any reason to visit or pass by the Beach House as it is well away from the Hotel complex. The Hotel is small and has only 12 apartments. It is aimed at the budget and affordable end of the market, and attracts both international and domestic travellers.

CHECK-IN: Check-in time is after 3.00 pm on the day of arrival, with check-out by 10 am on the day of departure. An earlier check-in time of 12 noon may be possible if the Beach House is available and ready. However, guests arriving into Nadi in the early hours of the morning who wish to check-in immediately upon arrival at Saweni will need to book the Beach House from the night before. Late check-outs (additional fee) may be possible depending on forward bookings.

TELEPHONE: The house does not have a telephone. We can arrange for a prepaid Fiji SIM card for your GSM mobile phone if you wish, as the Beach House is within the Vodafone Fiji coverage area. Alternatively, calls may be made from the payphone at the reception area of the Saweni Beach Apartment Hotel. Faxes may be sent from/received at the Saweni Beach Apartment Hotel (charges will apply to outgoing faxes), and the reception at the Hotel will take telephone messages for guests of the Beach House during office hours. Internet access however is not available on site; there are internet cafes in Lautoka and Nadi.

SMOKING: The Beach House is a non-smoking accommodation. Smoking is not permitted inside the house.

ELECTRICITY: The Beach House has 24 hour mains electrical power.

HOT WATER: The Beach House has a solar hot water system which can be electrically boosted in the event of (rare!) cloudy days.

LINEN AND TOWELS: Bed linen and bath towels are provided, and will be changed every 3rd day (or mid-stay for 1 week rentals). Maid service is available every 3rd day of stay, or mid-week for 1 week rentals. Beach towels are not provided; please bring your own.

LAUNDRY: The Beach House does not have a washing machine or dryer, but the reception at the Saweni Beach Apartment Hotel can arrange to have your washing done for F$8 a bag. The House has an iron and ironing board for guests' use.

CHILDREN: Please be aware that the Beach House is raised up off the ground, and that the wrap-around verandah does not have any child-proof fencing or railings; guests should make their own determination as to whether the accommodation is suitable for children.

PETS: Pets are not permitted at the Beach House, or on the Hotel premises.

AIRPORT TRANSFER: Transfers from Nadi Airport to Saweni may be arranged on request. Taxis are also available from the airport 24 hours a day

GROCERIES/MEALS: There are well-stocked grocery stores and local style markets in both Lautoka (10 mins by car) and Nadi (20 mins by car). There is also a small mini-mart at the Saweni Beach Apartment Hotel where you can buy basics and drinks.Alternatively, tasty local-style meals are available from the small restaurant at the Hotel.

RENTAL CARS: We can provide the names of various rental car companies if you wish to arrange a rental car in advance, or the reception at the Saweni Beach Apartment Hotel can assist you after arrival. In order to get around easily, a rental car is advisable. However, taxis are relatively inexpensive and can be much more cost effective than a rental car if you don't plan on moving around much.

ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS: The reception at the Saweni Beach Apartment Hotel can advise on various activities and adventures available in the Lautoka/Nadi area, including scuba diving, visits to orchid farms, scenic attractions, day cruises, golf, and more.

BEACH: All beaches in Fiji are public beaches, even hotel beaches. Accordingly, the beach in front of the Beach House is a public beach open to all. Topless sunbathing is not permitted in Fiji, and is considered offensive to the local people.
